SIGNING CEREMONY OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN AEON CO. (M) BHD AND UNIVERSITY OF MALAYA
Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur , 15 January 2013
As AEON recognizes the importance of human capital growth, one of its strategies centers on developing human development from the education sector. Today, AEON CO. (M) BHD. marked a historical event by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with University of Malaya to provide scholarships for bright young leaders to work for AEON upon their completion of their studies, the dispatch of internship to AEON Malaysia, cooperation of recruitment, lectures to AEON’s employees by the university faculty and the students participation in the activities of the AEON CSR.
The main objective in providing scholarship is for AEON to capture future leaders for the company. We chose University of Malaya because it is one of the leading universities that have massive pools of talented and bright students that could potentially be future leaders at AEON.
The AEON collaboration with University of Malaya was borne out of the fact that AEON recognizes the potential of young leaders that are currently studying in the university and being part of their great futures makes all the sense for a corporation like AEON.
Speaking about the collaboration, Ms. Nur Qamarina Chew, Managing Director of AEON CO. (M) BHD., said “The Company recognizes that an ongoing human resource development programme is essential to ensure the continued growth and success of AEON. We are therefore committed to providing scholarships to students who excel in their respective fields and to ensure that they are afforded the opportunity to assume positions of increasing responsibility within the organization inline with our company expansion and growth.”
Other than scholarship program, we are also looking into internship program at AEON Malaysia, cooperation of recruitment fairs and the students participation in the CSR activities in AEON Malaysia.
