The Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) continues with its flagship festive programme, AEON Mesra Ramadan, in anticipation of the upcoming Raya celebration. MAF brought joy to 530 children from different homes in different cities where they were treated to a shopping day. Assisted by the volunteers from AEON group of companies, the children had fun buying their new baju Raya in such a jovial mood.

At the main event of AEON Mesra Ramadan, 50 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dan Pendidikan Raudhatul Nurr Jannah were invited to the newly-renovated AEON Alpha Angle for a shopping session. Then, they were treated for a ‘Buka Puasa’ together with MAF’s Committee Members at Hotel Maluri, Kuala Lumpur. The children enjoyed live music entertainment from a ‘nasyid’ group, Raihan. A few of them won prizes for participating in some games organised by MAF. The programme were also assisted by 40 volunteers from AEON Credit Service Malaysia.

According to Datin Noryahwati Mohd Noh, President of MAF, “We will continue to support those in need, especially the children, in accordance with the pledge of the foundation. We are pleased to collaborate with AEON and AEON BiG as the venues for the children to shop as they offer great choices for the Raya necessities. Their smiles mean everything to us in MAF”.

The ‘Buka Puasa’ was also attended by Dr. Norisah Suhaili, Deputy Director-General of Ministry of Education (School Operation Sector); Mr. Ng Eng Kiat, Chairman of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad and MAF Committee Members.

AEON Mesra Ramadan by MAF was also participated by five AEON and six AEON BiG outlets namely AEON Alpha Angle, Kuala Lumpur; AEON Mall Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor; AEON Mall Shah Alam, Selangor; AEON Mall Nilai, Negeri Sembilan; AEON Mall Kota Bharu, Kelantan; AEON BiG Ampang, Selangor; AEON BiG Prai, Pulau Pinang; AEON BiG Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur; AEON BiG Kluang, Johor; AEON BiG Bandar Tun Hussein Onn, Selangor; and AEON BiG Kuantan, Pahang.

The AEON Mesra Program is in line with the foundation’s efforts to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) which is in line with the SDG 16 – which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive at all levels.
