MAF AND AEON BIG KLUANG’S COLLABORATION REMEMBERS THE LESS FORTUNATE THIS DEEPAVALI
AEON Mesra Deepavali extends reach to underprivileged community in Kluang

The festive spirit kicked into full swing as the Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) partnered with AEON BiG Kluang for the 10th instalment of its AEON Mesra programme. This will then be followed by similar treats at other 5 AEON Malls and 4 AEON Big branches happening simultaneously across the country on the same day.
In lieu of the upcoming religious celebration, AEON Mesra Deepavali this year have invited 500 children from the neighborhood to shop for their festive outfit with the help by employees from the AEON Group. Each child was given an allocation of RM200 from AEON Co. & RM150 from AEON Big to shop. A total of RM85,000 were donated.
The two-part event, which began at AEON BiG Kluang, Johor and culminated at the Four Seasons Ruili Hotel, was attended by Datin Yasmin Ahmad Merican, MAF President. Also lending their support were members of AEON Group’s Top Management, MAF committee members, along with 60 volunteers.
“There’s a reason why we keep doing these initiatives year in and year out. The smiles on the children’s faces, their joy that fill the room—it’s a beautiful moment, knowing that we can help make a difference in their lives. We’re also happy to be joining hands with AEON BiG this year, working together to leave a positive impact for the local underprivileged community,” said Datin Yasmin Ahmad Merican, MAF President.
Starting the day on an exciting note, the children were treated to a two-hour shopping excursion at AEON BiG Kluang. A good time picking out clothes for Deepavali, stationeries and toys too.
The second part of the programme gathered the children and volunteers at the Four Seasons Ruili Hotel, where they enjoyed a scrumptious lunch, and were engaged in fun group activities.
Fun and games aside, MAF further assisted to alleviate the burdens of the children and families by making a generous contribution to the community—a perfect finish for this year’s AEON Mesra Deepavali initiative. The donation handover ceremony held at the hotel saw every child receiving an angpow worth RM50.

To date, the Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF) has contributed more than RM12 million to worthy causes.
