AEON CO. (M) BHD. had made another achievement in the food safety system by receiving the HALAL certification, which also complies with MS 1500:2009, the Malaysian Standard for the production, preparation, handling and storage of HALAL Food. The certification was granted for the Food Court of AEON Seremban 2.
Nowadays, in the world of technology, it has become extremely challenging for Muslims to determine whether the food or drinks they consume are religiously acceptable, or halal, as most of the food sold today has been changed, added to, and enhanced with various food additives, and using various technologies. Some of the reasons for this was either for food stability, quality or to prolong shelf life. With this certification, all our customers can now enjoy the food in the AEON Seremban 2 Food Court without any doubts.
Besides stringent internal hygiene audit and training, we also have a HALAL Committee at our Headquarters and also at the store itself to oversee total company HALAL compliances. Our HALAL certification was implemented in stages from 2010 and as of today the Delicatessen, Bakery and Sushi is HALAL certified. With this experience, the application was much smoother as the committee members now understand the flow of HALAL application and its requirements. AEON is also one of the first few companies in Malaysia to obtain the HALAL Certificate for Sushi by JAKIM in 2013. With these certifications, AEON customers can now enjoy wholesome food without any doubts.
Our first HALAL certified food court is located in AEON AU2, Setiawangsa in 2011, followed by the food courts in AEON Melaka, Air Keroh and AEON Bandaraya Melaka in 2013. To reach greater heights, AEON CO. (M) BHD. will strive for greater excellence to achieve HALAL certificate for the food courts in other AEON stores.
