Roaring towards the COVID-19 endemic, AEON CO. (M) BHD (AEON) announces an exclusive with one of fashion’s most decorated Malaysian designer, Melinda Looi. Lunar New Year celebration is set to be more cherished this year with the #MelRoars collection, inviting customers to experience the best of heritage and fashion while making memories together.
The #MelRoars collection is an accessible ready-to-wear assemblage that honours the Year of the Tiger with three types of Panthera tigris-inspired pattern fused in rich Peranakan influence: eccentric batik inspired stripes, vivid geometric Peranakan tiles, and delicate ancient floral juxtaposition with a concealed tiger’s expression.
“Realising that this will be a memorable Lunar New Year celebration in the COVID-19 era, we have planned for #MelRoars to be matched with the best of AEON’s seasonal celebration. It is not by chance that we partnered with the very talented Melinda Looi who is also helming the Malaysian Official Designers Associations, MODA as its President. Well documented for her avant-garde and retro-style designs, #MelRoars gives this festive season a distinct heritage touch, suggesting that we embrace our Malaysian legacy,” said Low Ngai Yuen, Chief Merchandise and Marketing Officer of AEON.
#MelRoars trunk show is attended and graced by Sunny Setiawan; Chief Operating Officer of AEON, alongside media partners and influencers, Sandy Tan, Chief Executive Officer of Optimax Specialist Centre and Yan Lim, Chief Executive Officer of Ioli Communications Sdn Bhd to name a few.
There are also additional on-site demonstrations of putting together the season’s ideas with makeup partner, Shiseido.
