AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre ecosystem is a fully vaccinated shopping centre in Malaysia and the first among 200 AEON outlets nationwide.

The shopping centre achieved 80% threshold of the herd immunity comprising 1,733 people within the ecosystem as of 30 August 2021. It involved not only AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre’s employees but also the tenants, security and facilities personnel, suppliers and business partners.

Marking the milestone, employees and business partners of AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre Kuala Lumpur ecosystem are entitled to ‘I AM FULLY VACCINATED’ badge, obtainable upon presenting COVID-19 Vaccination Digital Certificates. The badge is to be worn and clearly displayed while they are in the premise.

Shafie Shamsuddin, our Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer said, “We are grateful for the completion of the vaccination programme for AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre Kuala Lumpur ecosystem. It was done for the best interest of AEON people and the entire stakeholders within the ecosystem. It is indeed a special milestone for AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre, being our signature mall to be the first fully vaccinated AEON outlet.”

“To date, out of 12,000 AEON retail employees, 77% of them based at AEON outlets in Klang Valley have been fully vaccinated and overall, we have achieved 50% vaccination rate.”

“Concerted efforts are being made for the vaccination exercise to be rolled out in our endeavour to care for AEON people, the ecosystem, and ultimately, to achieve the herd immunity in tandem with the Government’s National COVID-19 immunisation programme. AEON targets for all outlets nationwide to be fully vaccinated by October this year.”

The health and well-being of employees, customers and business partners are AEON’s utmost priority. The company is committed to providing the stakeholders with a safe environment thus the implementation of a much more stringent Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) since mid-August 2021. The new safety protocols require employees, customers, visitors, suppliers and business partners to show proof of vaccination before they are allowed admission to AEON outlets.
