Malaysia’s leading retailer, AEON CO. (M) BHD, today proudly announced that its new shopping mall has opened its doors to the community in Taiping. Marking the 29th outlets in Malaysia, AEON Mall Taiping is the fourth shopping mall in Perak that is set to provide a lifestyle hub, allowing customers to shop, socialise, dine and play – all under one-roof.

Officiated by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, Tuanku Zara Salim, the community mall occupies a three-level building on a 14 acres land. With an investment of RM 66 million, AEON will focus on developing the mall with variety of basic amenities, shopping convenience and leisure.

“We are proud to say that we offer a multitude of choices, catered to suit any and every customer. It will have high visibility from one of the busy traffic in Taiping and has excellent accessibility by car and public transport from all areas,” said Nur Qamarina Chew, Managing Director of AEON CO. (M) BHD during the official opening.

AEON Mall Taiping will retain AEON’s pride of providing invaluable amenities such as comfortable benches for shoppers needing a little rest, conveniently located ‘surau’, free wireless Internet connection, and “Kidzone” interactive playground and play areas, for shoppers’ ease, peace of mind and delight. The mall is also proud of continuing AEON’s signature tradition of setting up library carrying children’s book for the children to read while their parents shop.

Going beyond retail and shopping experience, AEON Mall Taiping also enriches the community it is in by creating job opportunities to the local folks. “With the opening of our mall, we have created over 1,000 new jobs and set up a career development program to ensure that our personnel are well trained and retained,” said Nur Qamarina Chew.

Each of the three floors in AEON Mall Taiping is designed with different concepts and themes. The ground floor is all about trendy fashion, health care, services and restaurants, whereas first floor is kids fashion, homes and leisure centre. The second floor is all about entertainment having a cinema and amusement park. For the convenience of shoppers, the mall provides approximately 2000 parking bays.

More than 40 species of trees and shrubs, such as Gaharu, Katong Laut, Kenanga, Cengal, Sepetir Daun Lebai were planted around the mall especially at the Educational Forest Area in order to maintain and preserve the ecosystem of the area and to educate shoppers the importance of preservation of endangered tree species. These plants were planted by approximately eight hundred nature enthusiast and environmentalist who participated in recent tree planting initiative – an AEON tradition that follows the opening of each new store.
