The Japanese five-yen coin have a special place in the Japanese culture. Because “go yen” ( 五円) is a homophone with “go-en” (御縁) which means “good relationship”, the five-yen coin is often used to symbolise the wish for a good relationship and good luck and it is widely believed that placing a five-yen coin in a new wallet before anything else would bring you good money luck. The Japanese five-yen coin have a dazzling gold hue with a hole in the centre. Some people would even string a ribbon through the hole to carry it around as a good luck charm.

Shoppers will be able to redeem their lucky “Go-en” coin from the Customer Service Counter (GMS Department) with every new Men’s or Ladies’ Wallet purchase from today, while stocks last.
