AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON) has once again been chosen by the ultimate global brand recognition accolade, the World Branding Awards as the winner of Brand of The Year Award 2021/2022 for the Retailer-Departmental Stores Category.
Nominated together with over 500 brands from more than 60 countries around the world, AEON is pleased to be chosen for the second year in a row as the winner. The other national tiers winners for various categories are from Australia, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Singapore to name a few.
According to Shafie Shamsuddin, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AEON, “We in AEON are grateful to be named as Brand of the Year for the Retailer-Departmental Stores Category for second consecutive year. Customers are always at the heart of everything that we do as we embrace the challenges with enthusiasm and steadfastness in full solidarity with the stakeholders. We continuously strive to give our best to cater to the needs of the customers for a pleasant shopping experience – offline and online – and in a safe environment while adjusting to the new normal.”
“We dedicate this achievement to our employees known as AEON Warriors for their hard work and commitments, as well as our business partners and customers for their continued support. This recognition undoubtedly motivates us to continually challenge ourselves to enhance our retail ecosystem by integrating technology, sustainability and human elements,” he added.
Over 1.3 million consumer votes have been received since the inception of the Awards and for this fourteenth edition, more than 345,000 consumers participated in the nomination process globally. On average, there are only seven winning brands in each country, proving that winning a World Branding Award is indeed a remarkable achievement. The winners are uniquely judged through three streams: brand valuation, consumer market research, and public online voting.
The announcement of all World Branding Awards 2021/2022 winners was made end of last year, through its first online ceremony from Kensington Palace, London.
