AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre becomes the first centre for Retail industry Vaccination Programme (RiVAC) to vaccinate the retail workers in Ipoh, Perak.

10,000 vaccine doses are allocated for the mall with 1,000 doses are being administered daily to retail employees from 7 to 16 September 2021. The second dose session will be held from 28 September to 7 October 2021.

RiVAC is a government initiative in the form of public and private strategic cooperation to accelerate the vaccination programme among workers under the retail sector to help achieve 80% herd immunity in the country.

This programme is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).

According to Dr. Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Corporate Communications of AEON, “We are grateful to be given the opportunity to implement this vaccination programme with the support of KPDNHEP. Our goal is always to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the stakeholders within our ecosystem. We will continue to organise similar programmes in our other outlets in stages.”

AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre houses AEON Ipoh Falim Store and AEON BiG Falim to cater to the retail needs of the surrounding communities.

Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed, Head of AEON BiG (M) SDN. BHD. said, “We are thankful to COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) for the vaccine supply. Through RiVAC, 1,500 people of AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre ecosystem have received their vaccination. The success of AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre in becoming the first RiVAC in Ipoh is definitely a historic milestone in us serving the community as well as our retail journey.”

The smooth implementation of RiVAC at AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre is attributed to the support from AEON volunteers and other agencies such as Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia (RELA), Ipoh City Council (MBI), Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) as well as Medi-Ihsan Occupational Safety and Health Sdn. Bhd. (MIOSH).
