AEON MESRA SPREADS FESTIVE JOY AMONG UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN IN SARAWAK
Kuala Lumpur, 1 December 2023 – AEON CO. (M) BHD., or AEON, proudly celebrates a momentous achievement with the official reopening of AEON Mall Cheras Selatan.
Situated near Balakong, Cheras, AEON Mall Cheras Selatan first welcomed the public on 28 December 2006. The inauguration, led by Y.B. Datuk Hj Mohd Shafie Hj. Apdal, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs at the time, marked the unveiling of AEON’s 13th shopping center and 16th store in Malaysia.
Over the past 18 years, this comprehensive shopping and entertainment destination has served the residents of Cheras Selatan with its two levels of shopping space, housing over 90 diverse shops.
AEON Mall Cheras Selatan now reopens its doors, revealing a contemporary facelift for our valued customers.
Guests can now enjoy new experiences, featuring self-checkout counters, solar power sources, and high-quality products under the Home Coordy and Inner Casual (iC) brands.
Home Coordy is a household and home fashion brand that specialises in minimalist home living. Renowned for its stringent quality standards, it is designed with a commitment to simplicity and innovative functionalities. On the other hand, iC is an athleisure brand from AEON Japan that uses eco-friendly fabrics in all its products.
In alignment with AEON’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, the mall is now equipped with solar panels located in its car park area. This is part of AEON’s phased initiative to equip all our malls with solar panels.
The refreshed AEON Mall Cheras Selatan introduces an expanded range of sports brands, embodying AEON’s dedication to creating a destination for sports equipment.
A notable addition to our tenant lineup is the global sports brand, Decathlon, which introduces its innovative concept store, Decathlon Connects, the first of its kind in Malaysia. This scaled-down version of Decathlon’s store serves as a convenient one-stop shop for customers seeking quick access to sports essentials.
The reopening event was honored by the presence of Dato‘ Seri Mohd Sayuthi Bakar, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living. Also present at the event was Keiji Ono, Managing Director of AEON.
Keiji Ono expressed, “In our unwavering commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction, we continuously strive to provide a seamless shopping experience. This involves ongoing efforts to enhance our malls with cutting-edge facilities, infused with a modern touch. All these initiatives are geared towards ensuring the comfort of our customers and contributing to a more sustainable environment.”
At the same event, AEON also affirmed its unwavering dedication to supporting customers amidst the rising cost of living. AEON has taken a proactive step by implementing a price lock on a carefully curated selection of 250 essential items for the next three months. This strategic initiative is a pivotal addition to AEON’s overarching Everyday-Fresh-Everyday-Low-Price-Campaign, which was initially introduced earlier this year across 1,000 items. Among the identified items are necessities such as hair shampoos, fabric softeners, detergents, cooking oils, noodles, milk, and more.
This campaign aims to deliver a worry-free shopping experience for customers, underscoring AEON’s commitment to customer satisfaction and financial well-being without compromising on product quality. The designated items are conveniently available at all AEON, AEON BiG, and MaxValu Prime locations nationwide, as well as through AEON’s user-friendly online platform, myAEON2go. As stated by Ono, “The initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to prioritise customers’ peace of mind while ensuring accessibility to essential products at affordable prices.”
Aligning with the reopening of AEON Mall Cheras Selatan, the Malaysia AEON Foundation will also be donating RM30,000 to three charitable organisations.
