Malaysian Shoppers can now DO MALL at AEON MALL

Y. Bhg. Dato’ Basaruddin bin Sadali, Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumerism launched AEON Mall over the weekend at one of its flagship stores in Klang.

This branding exercise saw selected AEON Shopping Centres rebranded to AEON Mall positioning AEON Mall as a lifestyle mall for everyone.

It also marked the next step in product innovation and constant improvement by AEON CO. (M) BHD. to offer its consumers a refreshed face, with new attitude and offerings while still maintaining consumer retail favourites.

In conjunction the branding exercise, AEON also introduced the theme “DO MALL”, which focuses on creating on-going activities throughout the year at selected AEON Malls throughout Malaysia.

In addition to the branding exercise, a series of touch point engagements programs was also planned for AEON customers, stakeholders and employees with morning activities such as a 5km walk-a-thon, Zumba, Dance sessions, Aerobic and also a lucky draw for AEON customers organized with afternoon sessions covering wellness talks, booths, and many more exciting activities were conducted.

All in all, the over 2,500 participants took part at AEON Mall Bukit Tinggi with another 3,000 taking part at AEON Mall Bukit Indah, AEON Mall Bandaraya Melaka, AEON Mall Seremban 2, AEON Mall Rawang, AEON Mall Kinta City, AEON Mall Ipoh Station 18, AEON Mall Sri Manjung, AEON Mall Taiping and AEON Mall Bukit Mertajam.

AEON have also planned to continue their branding exercise with a whole calendar of themed activities such as ‘Do-Heritage’ which will see a collaboration with famous traditional Malaysia artistes for the “Akar Kita Zapin”, to upgrading Traditional Malaysian Dances & Traditional games at selected AEON Mall throughout the country.

“Brands need to touch people in the heart from all aspects of life, not just from the retail aspect. AEON Mall has been designed to enrich our consumer’s lifestyle, to be a one-stop destination where parents can bring their children and build fond memories as families.” said Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Yusof, Chairman of AEON CO. (M) BHD.

Yang Bahagia Dato’ Basaruddin bin Sadali shared “The move by multinational retailer AEON CO. (M) to introduce the AEON Mall is a strong indicator that they believe that consumer spending is continuing on an upward trend, provided retailers understand how to diversify and upgrade their offerings for their customers.”

Meanwhile, Yang Bahagia, Dato’ Liew Choon Liang, Chairman of the Malaysia Retail Association (MRA) and Managing Director of Focus Point noted that “AEON Mall marks a very positive milestone in the local retailing industry, taking 31 years of heritage and building on that strong foundation, elevating the retailers and brands involved to greater heights.”
