AEON AWARD PRIZES WORTH RM270,000 TO WINNERS AS PART OF THEIR 28TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

KLANG, 15th March 2013

12 lucky winners of the AEON 28th Anniversary’s “AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Guess the Ball Contest” and “AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Count the Ball Contest” walked away with prizes worth RM 270,000 at a prize giving ceremony held today at AEON Bukit Tinggi, Klang. The contest was held in conjunction with the company’s 28th anniversary celebration in Malaysia, where a string of activities and events were held at all AEON Stores nationwide.

“The celebration was to show our gratitude to our loyal customers and supporters. This is our way of saying thank you,” said Ms. Nur Qamarina Chew, Managing Director of AEON CO. (M) BHD, who presented the prizes to the winners. The contest was jointly organised with Suzuki, Samsung and Toshiba.

The grand prize winner for the “AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Guess the Ball Contest”, Muhd Sharul Bahrain Bakri, 35 years old walked away with a Suzuki Grand Vitara and 28,000 AEON member points, where else the first prize winner, S. Makandran, 42 years old walked away with Suzuki Nex, a Toshiba 40″ LED television, a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus Smartphone and 2,800 AEON member points. 26 winners also won the consolation prize of AEON gift vouchers worth RM280 and 2,800 AEON member points

“We are so excited with our wins and our family will be so thrilled to have a new car and television for us to use. Thank you AEON,” said both Muhd Sharul and Hun Keng Kuan at the prize giving ceremony.

The contest, which ran from 29 September to 28 October 2012, was open to all AEON Members who purchased a minimum of RM50 (or RM80 for Non-AEON Members) worth of products in a single receipt. To participate, contestants were required to identify the correct position of the football based on the white spots in the picture and complete a simple slogan.

For the second contest “AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Count the Ball Contest, which ran from 10 November to 25 December 2012, contestants were required to count the balls on a Toshiba television screen, which was displayed at all AEON Shopping Centres, and submit their answers along with a simple slogan. Hun Keng Kuan, 57 years old the grand prize winner, walked away with a Suzuki Nex, a Toshiba 46″ LED television, a Samsung SIII Smartphone and 28,000 AEON member points, where else the two first prize winner, Nurul Syuhada Zaaba, 28 years old and Deanesh Nair, 42 years old also took home a Suzuki Nex, a Toshiba 40” LED television, Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus Smartphone and 2,800 AEON member points each. All three winners were ecstatic with their wins.

Toshiba LED television, Samsung Galaxy and AEON points were also given to the three second place winners, four third place winners and 18 consolation winners.
