Kuala Lumpur, 20 February 2024 – AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON or the Company) announces the appointment of Naoya Okada as its Managing Director (MD), effective 1st March 2024.

The Board of Directors acknowledges and welcomes Naoya as he has been instrumental in the growth of AEON since he came on board as the Deputy Managing Director and also the Chief Operating Officer in 2022.

“Naoya played a pivotal role in AEON’s transformational journey. His visionary and strategic market knowledge has created an AEON that is more resilient and agile to meet future challenges”, said AEON Chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin.

Naoya will be replacing Keiji Ono, an executive with 27 years of experience serving various roles within the AEON Group globally. Ono has served as Managing Director of AEON Co (M) since June 2022, and prior to that he was the President and Representative Director of AEON Cambodia and joined AEON CO. (M) BHD from his role as President and Representative Director of AEON Ryukyu Co. Ltd in Japan. In Malaysia, Ono has strategically improved the foundation of the management structure. AEON will continue to rejuvenate the management in order to move on to the next stage of growth strategy. He will be returning to AEON Japan to take on a new assignment.
