AEON and Ministry of Domestic Trade Co-operatives & Consumerism (MDTCC) Reaching Out to 150 Underprivileged Children

AEON CO (M) BHD announced today that they will be collaborating with the Ministry of Domestic Trade Co-operatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) for the AEON’s Back to School Campaign 2013.
AEON CO (M) BHD will be offering assistance to 150 orphans – both primary and secondary school children from Negeri Sembilan and Selangor Orphanages during this campaign. Guest of Honor, Minister of MTDCC, Y.B. Dato Sri Hasan Bin Malek was also present to inaugurate the event at AEON Alpha Angle Shopping Centre in Wangsa Maju.
Mr. Poh Ying Loo, Executive Director of AEON CO. (M) BHD., said, “AEON is pleased to collaborate with Ministry of Domestic Trade Co-operatives & Consumerism to roll out its corporate social responsibility program in Malaysia. The program will provide the underprivileged children with the school necessities they need so that they will be able to have a good head start in school. He added, “This campaign also enables families to have a wide range of options to choose for their children’s school supplies as well as to promote AEON Alpha Kids as the house brand that offers affordable price to the consumers.”
Additionally, the Malaysian AEON Foundation, “With All Our Heart (WAOH)”, has arranged the school uniforms worth RM200 for each orphan. Nickelodeon cartoon characters including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dora the Explorer, and Spongebob Squarepants will make special appearances in selected Shopping Centres to bring more cheer and entertainment to the children.
A myriad of Back to School promotions will also be taking place in 11 major stores from now until 6 January 2014.
