Golf meets philanthropy to raise RM125,000 at MAF Charity Golf 2018

Malaysian AEON Foundation’s Charity Golf initiative returned for its fourth edition to raise RM125,000 in funds for underprivileged children.
Held at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club in Kota Kemuning, the half-day charity tournament saw 113 business partners from AEON’s group of companies teeing off for a good cause. Joining them were the President of Malaysian AEON Foundation, Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Yusof; Chairman of AEON CO. (M) BHD., Datuk Iskandar bin Sarudin; and guest-of-honour, the special envoy to the Prime Minister, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Mohd Radzi Abdul Rahman.
“We’re honoured to have our business partners continuously support the Foundation, and join us on our mission to provide a better life for underprivileged Malaysians. Compared to 2017, this year’s Charity Golf event saw an increase of RM13,000 in donated financial aid. With the money, we hope it gives those in need, especially the children access to education and healthcare, and an all-round improved living environment,” explained Dato’ Abdullah.
In addition to the funds collected in the form of participation fee and voluntary donations from generous business partners, Koh & I Trading (M) Sdn Bhd extended another RM10,000 donation to the Foundation, rounding the total to RM125,000. From the total collected, RM70,000 was donated to three selected children welfare homes, with two homes receiving RM20,000 and one home receiving RM30,000. Representatives from the homes Pertubuhan Kebajikan Rumah Anak – Anak Yatim Dan Miskin Al Taqwa Baling, Kedah, Pertubuhan Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Setia, Ipoh and Kirtarsh Home for Children with Disabilities, Rawang were present to receive the mock cheques.
As part of the day’s itinerary, the golfers were also treated to a buffet lunch with entertainment being provided by a three-piece live band. Plus, prizes were given out to the winners and lucky draw recipients. The prizes ranged from a Taylormade GP driver and a Garmin golf watch, to a Yamaha caddie bag and a Samsung S9+.
