150 children and 80 underprivileged single parents and old folks were invited to the Kompleks Sukan Bandar Tun Razak in Kuala Lumpur, where they enjoyed a Chinese New Year lunch, together with 30 volunteers during the ‘Spread Our Love’ Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019 hosted by the Malaysian AEON Foundation (MAF).

The children, who were from PPR Kampung Air Panas, Setapak Jaya and House of Joy, were also treated to a wonderful shopping session on 26 January 2019. This pre-Chinese New Year shopping session saw 105 children choosing their CNY new clothes at AEON MALL AU2, while another 45 children shopped at AEON Bandar Puchong. Each child was given RM200 worth of shopping vouchers for this shopping session. The children were assisted by volunteers and the shopping session was graced by the presence of Mr. Kenji Fujita, Vice President of MAF and MAF Committee members, Miss Ebby Loo and Mr. Ajith Jayaram.

During the Chinese New Year lunch, participants were also invited to partake in a Yee Sang tossing ceremony. They were then entertained by an energetic lion dance performance, a God of Prosperity walkabout and a fun magic show. Before the day ended, all the children received an angpow packet of RM50 each. All of the 80 underprivileged parents and old folks were also presented with an RM200 angpow packet each and a grocery bag filled with basic necessities worth RM100.

This fun-filled day was graced by the presence of Yang Berusaha Tuan Badrul Hisham Bin Mohd, Vice- Secretary (International Trade) of MDTCA, Mr. Shinobu Washizawa and Mr. Kenji Fujita, both Vice Presidents of Malaysian AEON Foundation; Datuk Iskandar bin Sarudin, Chairman of AEON CO. (M) BHD.; Mr. Ng Eng Kiat, Chairman of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad; MAF Committee Members and the top management of AEON CO. (M) BHD. and AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad.

Every year, the MAF organises these festive celebrations to bring cheer and happiness to those who are less fortunate. Through these activities, the MAF hopes to give support and monetary assistance to those who need it the most. These events also give MAF volunteers an opportunity to spread joy while participating in charitable activities.

This year, the Malaysian AEON Foundation ‘Spread Our Love’ Chinese New Year Celebrations 2019 saw donations worth RM61,500 being distributed to those in need. It was truly a celebration of love filled with heartfelt joy and laughter from all who participated in this auspicious event.
