MDTCC & AEON Kicks Off Raya Festivities with Price Cut Campaign
Petaling Jaya, 9 July 2013
In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya festive, AEON Co. (M) Bhd introduces the AEON Price Cut Campaign. Commencing on 9 July, the campaign will see more than 100 selected grocery and fresh items from all 30 AEON outlets across the country being sold at a lower price.
“We at MDTCC are constantly urging our retailers, traders and manufacturers to reduce their prices to help reduce consumers’ financial woes. And today, we are proud to announce that AEON is the first retailer to participate in our Price Cut efforts for Hari Raya,” said Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Hasan Malek, Minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) who officiated the event at AEON Bandar Utama.
According to Dato’ Abdullah Mohd Yusof, Chairman of AEON Co. (M) Bhd, who was also present at the launch, the AEON Price Cut Campaign is part of AEON’s efforts to help their valued customers to save more and enjoy low prices on daily essential items when they shop at AEON.
“Pummeled by constant price increases recently, we sincerely hope that the hard pressed consumers will find relief in shopping at AEON during the festive season. The reason why we are very focused on grocery and fresh items is because we felt food is a very important component during Ramadhan and Syawal,” said Dato’ Abdullah.
The products identified for the AEON Price Cut Campaign ranges from poultry, to fruits, to dried food, to beverages, and will be retailed at a competitive price until 11 August, when the campaign ends.
In addition to price reduction, we are also giving away 5% cash rebate for every RM500 accumulated on the AEON Credit Card, eggs, Raya money packets, Raya reusable shopping bags, food storage containers and bowls, AEON gift vouchers to purchase AEON Raya Hampers, and dates gift box depending on promotion terms and condition.
AEON will also be featuring limited-edition collection named ‘Busana Tradisi by Radzuan Radziwill’, a designer ready-to-wear collection produced exclusively to coincide with Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Inspired by the finesse of traditional Malay costume, the collection offers sophistication and high fashion at an affordable price for everyone.
In conjunction with the AEON Price Cut Campaign launch, AEON has also introduced an online Facebook game called ‘AEON Adilfitri Photofest’, which went live on July 8, enabling participants to upload ‘Balik Kampung’ themed photos to win prizes worth up to RM4,000. The contest will be available online until 31 July. For more information log on to www.facebook.com/aeonretail.my.
“With the AEON Price Cut Campaign, we are committed to providing the best in value, quality and variety to our customers by offering prices that are lower compared to other retailers. With Ramadhan just starting, the campaign is timely and we hope to provide customers with wide range of choices at competitive prices,” ended Dato’ Abdullah.
