AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre Is The First Rivac Centre In Perak

AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre, Ipoh becomes the first centre for Retail industry Vaccination Programme (RiVAC) to vaccinate the retail workers in Ipoh, Perak. A total of 10,000 vaccine doses are allocated for the mall and are being administered to retail employees in Ipoh from 7 to 16 September 2021 for the first dose session. The second dose session will be held on 28 September to 7 October 2021.
RiVAC is one of the government initiatives in the form of public and private strategic cooperation to accelerate the vaccination programme among workers under the retail sector to help achieve 80% herd immunity in the country. This programme is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP).
According to Dr. Kasuma Satria Mat Jadi, Chief Human Resources Officer and Director of Corporate Communications of AEON, “We are very grateful to be given the opportunity to implement this vaccination programme with the support of KPDNHEP. Our goal is always to prioritise the health and wellbeing of the stakeholders within our ecosystem. We are honoured that in addition of being the Industrial Vaccination Centre (PPVIN) with the implementation of this programme, AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre is also the first RiVAC centre in Perak.”
“AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre’s RiVAC is a continuation of the vaccination programme that was implemented at AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre Kuala Lumpur last July with a total of 1,733 people involved in the ecosystem successfully completed their vaccination. We will continue to plan such programmes in our other outlets in stages,” added Dr. Kasuma.
The 10-day programme administers approximately 1,000 retail workers with Pfizer vaccine daily. It started with 1,500 people of AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre ecosystem and followed by employees of other retail companies in Ipoh.
AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre in Ipoh houses AEON Ipoh Falim Store and AEON BiG Falim to cater to the retail needs of the surrounding communities.
According to Sheikh Farouk Sheikh Mohamed, Head of AEON BiG (M) SDN. BHD., “We are grateful to COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) for the vaccine supply. Through RiVAC, 1,500 people of AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre ecosystem have received their vaccination. They will get their second dose starting from 28 September 2021”.
“We are confident that such support can make shopping malls a safer place to shop and further accelerate the achievement of herd immunity. The success of AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre in becoming the first RiVAC in Ipoh will definitely be a historic milestone in us serving the community as well as our retail journey,” concluded Sheikh Farouk.
The smooth implementation of RiVAC at AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre is attributed to the support from AEON volunteers and other agencies such as Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN), Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), Jabatan Sukarelawan Malaysia (RELA), Ipoh City Council (MBI), Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) as well as Medi-Ihsan Occupational Safety and Health Sdn. Bhd. (MIOSH).
