AEON TAMAN MALURI INTRODUCES AEON STYLE FIRST IN ASEAN

A Better Shopping Experience within Reach and Easy Access

The first Japanese Superstore in Malaysia, AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre, previously known as Jaya Jusco which opened its doors 30 years ago, has grown by leaps and bounds. It has contributed immensely towards the growth of Cheras. AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre that is firmly recognized as a Cheras renowned landmark unveiled its new and refreshing look following a major two year-refurbishment exercise.

AEON was first established following the invitation by the Malaysian government for Jusco Japan (currently known as AEON Japan) to help modernise the retail industry. Today after 35 years, AEON continues to contribute towards the ever- challenging retail industry and is a success story of the Look East Policy enunciated by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad end of 1981.

AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre which was revamped at a cost of more than RM300 million and involved an expansion of commercial space across 42,460 square metres (450,000 square feet) which compromise more than 120 stores, spread across seven floors. The shopping centre is also equipped with more than 1,500 parking bays situated on 4 levels, designed to offer convenience and parking space for shoppers.

The refurbished AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre features the first “AEON Style” in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. It is aimed at enriching the lives of the community and enhancing customer experiences. The new improved and refreshing AEON will now be known as the AEON Style Taman Maluri.

The idea of “AEON Style” is to create dedicated spaces within the centre that offers comfort and convenience for shoppers as they shop for their favourite brands and spend quality time with loved ones. The shopping centre is designed to provide ample space for shoppers to walk comfortably, move wheelchairs and baby-strollers easily while enjoying the shopping experience. They are also able to get access to a wide range of lifestyle and fashion brands, as well as food and beverage outlets that caters to both local and international cuisines to whet shoppers’ appetite.

Pregnant women and moms with new born babies will be greeted by the highly trained, AEON Japan certified Baby Advisors. They will offer tips and professional advice on baby related care and products. AEON Taman Maluri is the first and only shopping centre to introduce this service outside Japan. To create a pleasant and comfortable shopping experience for moms-to-be, a designated seating area is available to provide the much-needed rest after a long day of shopping.

Commenting at the grand opening, Shinobu Washizawa, Managing Director of AEON CO. This concept enables us to combine AEON’s product line-ups and intensify customer services to offer a holistic shopping experience. Customers will be welcomed to nature-inspired interiors, great food and beverage selection, and amazing shopping experience that caters to a wide spectrum from babies to the older generation.”

“The existence of modern rail and reliable public transport system such as MRT and LRT further offers customers convenience and easy access to the shopping centre, while contributing to the increase in footfall,” added Shinobu Washizawa.

YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) caught a glimpse of the commute experience from MRT Taman Suntex to MRT AEON Maluri this morning. He was accompanied by YBhg Datuk Muez bin Abdul Aziz, Secretary General, KPDNHEP; Datuk Iskandar bin Sarudin, Chairman of AEON CO. (M) BHD.; Shinobu Washizawa, Managing Director of AEON CO. (M) BHD.; Dato’ Najmuddin Abdullah, Director of Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Relations, Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp); Azmi Md Zain, Chief Operating Officer, Rapid Rail MRT Sg Buloh-Kajang Line; and Senior Management of AEON CO. (M) BHD.

AEON Maluri MRT station is directly linked to the mall with an underground walkway, while Maluri LRT station is only a short walk away. The availability of the various transportation line namely MRT Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line; LRT Ampang & Sri Petaling Line; LRT Kelana Jaya Line, Monorail Line, which is well connected via the interchange station offers customers the convenience of moving around with ease. This makes the location highly accessible for city and urban residents alike irrespective of where they commute.

The pedestrian tunnel directly connects the AEON Maluri MRT Station and LRT Maluri Station to AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre offering customers a comfortable walking experience that only takes between five to ten minutes to reach the shopping centre.

Kids will be thrilled with the establishment of Kids Republic as they get to experience educational toys, creative and innovative stationeries; besides extensive clothing range. In conjunction with the grand opening, a special mobile app for Kids Republic will be introduced, offering parenting tips and special discounts on AEON Mommy’s Day.

AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre will continue to retain AEON’s pride of providing new and improved facilities, such as building more spacious and cosier parent’s friendly washroom, enhancing security escort service, single-female only parking bays, lost-and-found counter, first aid service, and mall-and-tenant information counter. Other new offerings at AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre includes the premier surau for Muslim customers, with complete sets of praying materials. AEON CO. (M) BHD. gives utmost priority to cleanliness by changing its ‘telekung’ daily.

Keeping up with the customers’ expectations, the improved AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre offer shoppers, the opportunity to rest and recharge at the Customer Relaxing area. Located on the first floor, there will be seating areas equipped with free mobile charging ports and WiFi access that allow shoppers to charge up before continuing their shopping activities.

AEON Taman Maluri Shopping Centre is located in the centre of Cheras community. The shopping centre is operational from 10AM to 10PM on Sundays to Thursdays and 10AM to 11PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
